About
"Hike Your Own Hike" is a narrative nonfiction about a newly divorced, forty-something, mother of two. Struggling to move forward under the weight of a past she has yet to come to terms with, she sets out alone in a bold attempt to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail, experiencing far more than she bargains for along the way-healing, adventure, love, self discovery, personal growth. It explores what daily life in the wilderness looks like, the trials and joys of thru-hiking, the types of people you meet and the sense of community you build on a long distance trail, and how to survive without modern conveniences for long stretches of time.
