About

Help children settle down happily in primary school, nursery school, play school or kindergarten for the first time.

This audio book will help your child to:

• Imagine being in a magic garden

• Paint away worries or fears

• Touch special flowers to feel brave and happy

• See picture of relaxed, brave self

• Play happily in classroom & playground

• Go to sleep feeling happy and relaxed

This is a self-help hypnotherapy recording for children aged around four to six years old who are going to primary school, play school, nursery school or kindergarten. You can play it for several days before they start and also once they have begun. Gentle and relaxing, it helps them feel more confident so they will settle in more easily and happily. It is helpful to play the recording at bedtime. Your child can relax and drift off to sleep at the end. If you find that they fall asleep more or less immediately, let them listen at a quiet time earlier on before bedtime instead, or as well as, when they go to bed. The recording should be in addition to, rather than instead of, any usual bedtime rituals or stories so that they don't feel deprived in any way. The story takes children through an imaginary magic garden, touching the 'brave' and the 'confidence' flowers, receiving suggestions for going to school, feeling relaxed, brave, and happy. They also sit down at a little table where they paint away any worries they might have. Once they have touched the flowers and received the positive suggestions, they look at their reflection in the pond and see themselves happily acting out everyday activities in their classrooms and playground. Research shows that when a person first acts out each positive step in their imagination, it dramatically increases the likelihood of their success in the real world. This recording contains powerful suggestions for boosting confidence and self-esteem. The language and topics used are carefully crafted to appeal to the interests of this particular age group. Lynda Hudson's gentle, well-modulated, English voice calms, re-assures and encourages. A clinical hypnotherapist and former teacher, Lynda has worked with many children and has helped them overcome numerous problems. Her work has been widely featured in the press and she has appeared on both TV and radio.
