When two-year-old Yui's parents are called overseas, she's left in the care of the most peculiar household imaginable: an ivy-covered mansion tucked deep in the whispering woods. But this is no ordinary home-and certainly no ordinary nursery.
Shu, Reiji, Ayato, Laito, Kanato, and Subaru aren't like other toddlers. With strange habits, sharper-than-usual teeth, and eyes that gleam in the dark, these little boys harbor secrets older than they look. Thankfully, Yui has help navigating this enchanted chaos: Art, the ever-calm butler who always seems to know more than he says, and Miss June, a gentle zombie maid whose lullabies hold forgotten sorrows.
Yui herself is special too. With sherbet-pink eyes and platinum curls, she toddles through her days with wonder-but the nights bring something else. Something old.
