When a fake video of radio DJ Lucy Fairweather kissing a colleague goes viral, and the public rally against her, she knows she needs an escape. The question is, where? Cue best friend Skye to the rescue with the perfect place, Finland. But when Lucy arrives at Wild Zone, a destination for travelers who want to experience the great outdoors of the Arctic Circle, she is less than impressed and wholly underdressed.
The wilderness lodge is owned by Skye's brother-in-law, Tommi, and Lucy is here to help with the guests in return for her stay. Stuck with little daylight, no affinity with her skis, and a very grumpy boss, Lucy can't seem to do anything right. Far from home, and on the verge of despair at her freezing conditions, will an encounter with the breathtaking Northern Lights change her luck, both in life and love?
