Central to our goal is spending time each day meditating on God's Word and His love for us. Reaching Toward the Heights is a collection of 366 daily readings in which Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who suffered greatly for his Christian witness, invites readers to meditate on God's Word. Reflecting on his own experiences in prison as well as the testimonies of other persecuted Christians, he urges Christians to draw closer to their Savior, who gave His life for them. Richard Wurmbrand (1909-2001) endured 14 years of prison in Communist Romania for his Christian witness. His wife, Sabina (1913-2000), spent three years in prison for her faith. Richard and Sabina were released from prison and later founded The Voice of the Martyrs in 1967 to aid families of imprisoned Christians in Communist nations and other countries where Christians are persecuted for their faith.
