About
The blank page is not truly empty,
it is filled with possibility,
for even the margins are sacred.
Part spiritual formation and part reflection on craft, Sacred Margins: On the Spiritual Life of a Writer draws from Scripture, vast reading, and decades of experience in publishing to explore the interior life of the writer-the hidden places where words are formed long before they reach the page.
Steve Laube journeys into profound facets of the writing life: the yearning to create, the alchemy of memory, the wonder of imagination, and the transparency of broken places. He also includes the difficulties writers face: self-doubt, waiting, criticism, time, success, and spiritual darkness, all while offering a deeply Christian vision of perseverance rooted in obedience.
Through insights and spiritual exercises, the book emphasizes that words matter because God uses them to bring hope and truth. For those compelled to write this book will inspire them to see that the blank pages are sacred opportunities.
