The government taskmasters aren't playing nice.(Do they ever?) Name's Jess. The superhero version is called Just Jess, but I feel like Desperate Jess is a better moniker. My to-do list grew exponentially. (Translation: In addition to my normal duties of reviewing superpowers, I have to find a cure for my sister, solve two power puzzles, and work with Mayor Shady Pants's misfit crew of Supers.) Saving my sister may involve defying the government overlords and that's not healthy for other people in my life. If I don't pull off several miracles, my sister may only be the first of many casualties. "This imaginative story captivated me from the first sentence and delivered chapter after chapter. Jess is a delightful and relatable character. Her world is intriguing. Lots of surprises and twists in this well-paced story."
