He has brought his vocal talents to all three volumes of Meltzer's Escape Artist series, and he capably inhabits "Zig" Zigarowski, a mortician with a heart of gold. Zig is the island of stability around which the book's oddball characters orbit. Brick enthusiastically brings these eccentrics to life, including unconventional cop Roddy, who ropes Zig into this mystery, and Roddy's brusque, estranged twin sister, Nola, who also gets sucked in. Brick effectively propels this fast-paced thriller to its surprising conclusion.
