I thought the worst part of the funeral would be saying goodbye. I was wrong. One flash of rainbow light later, and I can feel other people's emotions and blast my own right back at them. (Pro tip: do not get angry at your soon-to-be-ex when your new empathic powers are set to "maximum chaos.")

As if magical mood swings weren't enough, something dark is stirring in our quaint little town, and my mom's beloved spa is in the line of fire. The culprit? Destry, who is smooth-talking, maddeningly gorgeous, and determined to bulldoze the spa to build his glittering casino. He's the kind of man you cross the street to avoid until he flashes that smile and you forget why you were running. His touch sends black shadows curling through my senses-a warning I should definitely not ignore. And yet, for someone I should be plotting to hex, he's too easy to think about.
