About

This is based on the Vietnamese myth of the three kitchen spirits, The Ong Tao, who are said to grant prosperity each New Year to those who deserve it. This ancient fable is brought right up to date in modern day, and we catch up with the three Gods running a successful restaurant in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City on New Years Eve. But these spirits have major problems, both personally and professionally. Thi Nhi (The Household God of Shopping and Groceries), now the pedantic restaurant’s general manager, is trying to finish all reports on the Vietnamese people, but she’s running late and time’s ticking on to New Year. Meanwhile, Pham Lang (The Kitchen God of Cooking), now the egotistical award-winning head chef, has a cockroach infestation, which he’s trying to get rid of, but these bugs are as big as him! Finally, there’s Trang Cao (God of the Soil, Land and Farming), now the temperamental supply and inventory manager, brings a little boy back to the restaurant, which he just saved. Each of these personalities will clash. There’ll be dragons, the perfect recipe for Pho and a reckoning for the little boy’s apathetic drug partying parents.
