Based on the series of novels from Frank L. Baum. Return to and witness the incredible land of OZ after Dorothy and Toto had their famous adventure. But now… The Emerald City is tarnished. The Yellow Brick Road is in ruins. Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion, are gone. OZ is no longer a happy fantasyland of wonderful wizards and innocent singers. It is an OZ where a great evil has darkened the skies and come to despoil the land. And into this world of Winkies, Witches, and Winged Monkeys come a trio of friends from Earth along with their dog Max. The dark plans of the Nome King and the witch Mombie have infested the land and taken over, casting once legendary heroes into the clutches of evil. It is now up to these three earthlings and a ragtag group of OZ Freedom Fighters to once again restore OZ to its rightful and peaceful glory. This Issue: "Mayhem In Munchkinland - Part 1" - After purchasing a chest of old comics from an unwitting old gent, Kevin and Peter return to the home of their friend Mary to check out their good fortune. Inside they find a tome which, when opened, releases a powerful magic gateway in the form of a tornado. The three friends appear in the middle of a battle of short warriors. Kevin and Peter are pushed into a field of flowers where the minuscule fighters dare not follow. Mary, manages to outrun her pursuers for a while, but is finally caught. Astonishingly, she is saved by a tall "man" made of sticks and with a pumpkin for a head!
