About

This moving gift book truly stirs gratitude for the blessing of life and the everyday wonder and beauty of nature. It was inspired by the short film Gratitude, a viral video sensation by acclaimed filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg recently featured on Oprahs Super Soul Sunday. The book and film pair one of todays most uplifting poems-the Internet phenomenon "A Good Day," written by revered spiritual leader Brother David Steindl-Rast-with stunning images by Schwartzberg. Perfect for graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays-or just as a gift for someone you love-this inspirational package includes not just the book but a DVD with two short films by Schwartzberg (including Gratitude) and Brother Davids own A Good Day video. The last page has a link to the "A Good Day" audio track, which you can use to create your own video or slide show on what you are grateful for. Renowned spiritual leader and Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast trained for 12 years in the Benedictine monastic tradition before receiving permission to practice Zen with Buddhist masters. He went on to become a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell, where he was the first Roman Catholic to hold the Thorpe Lectureship, and cofounded the Center for Spiritual Studies, as well as gratefulness.org. His often-reprinted books include A Listening Heart (Crossroad Publishing Company) and Words of Common Sense for Mind, Body, and Soul (Templeton Press).  Louie Schwartzberg is an award-winning filmmaker whose notable career spans feature films, television shows, commercials, and documentaries. He has won two Clio Awards for TV advertising, the Heartland Film Festivals Truly Moving Picture Award for the feature film Americas Heart & Soul (Disney), and best theatrical program at the Jackson Hole Science Media Awards for Hidden Beauty (Disneynature). He is currently directing Mysteries of the Unseen World, a 3D large-format film, for National Geographic, and launching Moving Art™ channel (movingart.tv). Louie is active in the TED community, and has also been a featured speaker at Google, Viacom, and Bioneers. His online videos have collected over 25 million views. Louie lives in Los Angeles, CA.
