Joining the Army at 17 years of age, Daniel later serves as a Forward Scout on Australia's first military deployment to East Timor. Returning, restless, he undertakes officer training and serves again in East Timor as an Infantry Platoon Commander. He serves in federal law enforcement but the adrenaline spiking allure of war leads him to Afghanistan. Here he works as a Security Contractor dodging death and tempting fate alongside American and Australian forces in Australia's longest war.
