A man once was drowning in a flood. So, he cried out to God, "please come and save me."
Then along came a rowboat with a man inside. The man reached out his hand, and said, "grab hold of me."
But the drowning man said, "No. I'm waiting for God to come." So, the rowboat just moved on, and left him stranded.
Later the man finally faltered and was taken by the currents. And then he cried out to the heavens, "why did you not come for me?"
And to that, the reply came gently. "I did."
"I sent you a rowboat."
