Born in Puducherry, Anjali is the granddaughter of a Franco-Indian soldier who was a big fan of the French general Charles De Gaulle. Arriving in France in 1994, after her arranged marriage at the age of 25, she is abandoned by her husband on the very first day in her new country. Despite her initial disillusionment, she survives the culture shock and adversity, thanks to the love and support of the French people she meets. She is finally leading a quiet life with her three-year-old daughter, born under strange circumstances, when she meets Raphael. Believing to have finally found a knight in shining armour, a true gentleman, she quickly becomes disenchanted. Anjali must now take her destiny into her own hands for the second time in four years.
