When four children ventured into an "inbetween" area, they crossed an invisible boundary into a forbidden Zone.There they came upon a creature black and hideous which was to change their lives, indeed that of their whole society. Faced with a society that rejects animals and tries to be "clean," four children must now find there way across an old abandoned city of a prior world. Follow the story, as the four encounter survivors of the old world, Ancient Ones in a below world, and a flight to freedom on the wings of bats.
