Bible Basics is a Summary of the Bible in 8 Sections - This e-book provides a loosely structured guide for an eight (8) section overview of the Bible for personal study, home groups or Sunday school sessions. Practical verses were chosen that would make excellent memory versions for personal growthand faith. There are links throughout this book to the one of the author's websites: BibleTech.net providing a variety of formats for study. The intent is to help people know what the Bible contains and what it says by selected verses and their related context. This is not a book about defending the Bible or answering critics, it is simply about the Bible and what is presented in it. The Bible needs to be read individually and all the way through at least once. Links to verses and a schedule to read through in one year are included in this book and on BibleTech.net. Understanding God's Word starts with reading it, not by hearing about it from others. The passages provided in this book should whet your appetite for more of God's Word. The 66 books of the Bible have withstood the test and challenges of time, history and people whodespise the Bible. By having an idea of what each of the 66 books contains one can understand better the overall revelation of God through the Bible, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ. The books of the Bible can be organized in six to eight sections. Jesus identified three major sections in the Old Testament: the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms (Luke 24:44-47). The New Testament could be grouped into the Gospels, the Letters and the Revelation. In this book eight sections were created by separating the Prophets into History and Prophets, and the Letters into the writings of Paul and other Letters. We can trust Jesus because we can trust the Bible.
