A Mexican actor and filmmaker born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Cristo Fernández began his professional life as a soccer player, but physical injuries forced him to pursue another path. After receiving a BA in Communications, he moved to London for his master's degree from the Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey. While there, he heard about a TV show seeking actors who knew how to play soccer. In his audition for Ted Lasso, Cristo uttered Dani's now famous catchphrase, changing the trajectory of his life and that of the beloved TV show.
