About

This is a simple short picture book about a boy named Joseph. He uses his imagination to imagine that he has a pet dragon. He thinks of all the different things he would like his dragon to do. This book provides several teaching opportunities. Can your child recognise the verbs? Does your child know what a verb is? Ask your child what do they like to do? What is the dragon doing? What are the clues that help you to determine what the dragon is doing? The pictures are very simple to draw their attention to the key points. The refrain is simple and your child will be able to repeat and predict exactly what to say - (Joseph's dragon likes to). This story uses an apostrophe - introduce your child to belonging and possession so that they know what it is and how it is used. This book is a simple revision aid that is quick to look at and review. Use this quick and concise book to just remind your child about key parts of a sentence. Why is there a capital or why is there a full stop?
