About

Introduction to Library EditionKing's Gambit strikes fear in the hearts of chess players. Do you want to scare your opponents? White's attack is hard to avoid after 1.e4 e5 2.f4. This chess book has 50 of the most important King's Gambit games ever played.White offers a pawn to Black to gain an advantage. Tactics abound. The King's Gambit is one of the oldest and most popular chess openings. Many famous players have used it. I selected games from a wide variety of famous masters, from the 1800s to 2022. This King's Gambit book illustrates some of the many ways to play this bold chess opening. It shows you typical tactics and strategies for White to win.Years ago, I had two friends who loved the King's Gambit. They studied it so much that I was afraid to face them. One friend played it all his career and became a master. The other quit playing this gambit and never became a master. This book is full of exciting grandmaster and master wins. Sharp openings help you win more chess games.I pick two key positions from each game for a diagram. My plan is for you to browse through the book, look at the diagrams and read the comments with ease. From time to time, I add a line of analysis. You may wish to work out some of those lines in your head, or just note that there was an alternative way to play and keep reading.I played chess for 50 years. I have written over 100 books. This book comes as a request from one of my readers.I assume that you can read algebraic chess notation. The diagrams have White at the bottom of the board. Thank you for reading my books. I hope you enjoy this one!
