During his years in the majors, Floyd Patterson had pitched for everyone from Oakland, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and even been a Marlin. Now he was an Anchorage Lumberjack, and no one, maybe not even Patterson himself, had any idea what the hell he was doing toeing the rubber in Alaska's Moose League. But when Jennifer Tisch of the Anchorage Daily News goes looking for a story, she soon learns there's much more to the tough-talking, hard-drinking Patterson than meets the eye.Ryan Bradley has pumped gas, changed oil, painted houses, swept the floor of a mechanic's shop, worked on a construction crew in the Arctic Circle, fronted a punk band, and managed an independent children's bookstore.
