MESSAGES FROM FLORENCE is a collection of photos I captured spontaneously. While I was meandering through Florence, watching a sunset or sunrise, running along the Arno, or visiting a garden, Florence would whisper messages to me about being more present, opening myself up to my surroundings, and seeing the world through my heart.
My beloved city encouraged me to experience my surroundings through my senses. What began as pleasure for my eyes became love that now courses through my veins. As Florence once whispered to me, "What you see is beauty. What you feel is love."
Originally from California, I have lived overseas for most of my adult life. I moved to Paris, France, a few months after graduating from university to work for a French software company as a technical writer. Thanks to an ad in a Parisian newsletter for expats, I attended writing workshops with Kathleen Spivack, who sparked my love of writing.
Since 2004, I have been living in Florence where my beloved city has inspired me to ground herself more in my surroundings, perceive more beauty around me, be open to inspiration, and nurture and honor my heart.
