About

We were not even trying to get pregnant, yet we were ecstatic about the news. We told our family and friends and made plans to welcome our first little one into the world. Then the unthinkable happened. My baby stopped moving inside of me. We lost our baby and a piece of me died too. These are the kinds of tragedies that you do not think about until it happens. You never want to think about it again, but you can't help it.

Pregnancy loss and early infant loss are life-altering experiences that you cannot prepare for because you do not expect them. The grief seems unbearable but somehow you must overcome it. Through it all, you must persevere and seek to mend the pieces of your broken heart. Writing helped me to put my pieces back together. Through this book may you find understanding, encouragement, empathy, and support. It is for you, the parent grieving through your loss experience. It is for you, the mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, or friend of the grieving parents. This book is for anyone who would like to better understand what a person suffering from pregnancy and early infant loss is going through to better provide substantial and positive support.
