About
Knowing where and when events took place is one of the basic issues with Old and New Testament study. Here is a chronology of significant people and events in biblical and secular history from Adam to AD 395 (the division of the Roman Empire). Old and New Testament people and events are synchronized with relevant events in secular history, allowing the reader to grasp the scope of God's interaction with humankind through Israel and the New Testament Church.Twenty-eight appendices discuss additional details. In the Old Testament part, an important evaluation of the orthodox Egyptian chronology is discussed, which demonstrates the accuracy of the biblical record. Other issues in the appendices are where Noah's ark came to rest, the timing of the Exodus, the pharaoh of the Exodus, where the Red Sea crossing was made, and the location of the Mountain of God where Israel camped for two years after the Exodus. A complete and dated list of Israel's kings and High Priests is provided. Three appendices discuss the biblical and secular evidence as to where and when Jesus was born. In the New Testament appendices the beginning date and the length of Jesus' ministry are discussed, as well as a list of miracles and parables, and a discussion of the day and date of Jesus crucifixion. Also included are appendices comparing the crucifixion date with Daniel's Chronology, and an outline of the Passion week. James D. Quiggle was born in 1952 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
