When Nick, Ian, David, and Felicia go wandering in the woods, the kids stumble on something so terrible they are afraid to tell anyone about it. They make a pact to keep it secret. Two days later Nick and Felicia's family vanishes in the night.
12 Years Later David has never forgotten Felicia, the long-legged girl he was forced to spend time with looking after their younger brothers as they roamed the town and surrounding woods. Stuck growing up in that town, David and Ian could not forget that day in the woods that changed their world. Was what they found left by the rumored old Mill Road monster? Nick returns to dig into the past and learn the forgotten childhood memories that still haunt Felicia and him. Right after his return something shocking is found in the woods. Detective Liam Tobin with C. C. I., Cold Case Investigations, comes to investigate the discovery in the woods and the town's dark history. With Nick and Felicia's strange uncle Harvey suspected to be behind the new gruesome discovery in the woods and Nick's return, Felicia is forced to come back to the place where it all began, Havenwood. Everything centers around the old abandoned mill, where the stories of the old Mill Road monster were born.
