Oliver Dorian is a young boy who lives by the sea in Brigus, Newfoundland, Canada. He comes from a fishing family who depend on the mighty sea for much of their food and livelihood.
Oliver wonders how mighty the sea really is after seeing the effects of trash and garbage. But, it is an encounter with an endangered blue whale called 'Big Blue' that makes Oliver realize just how fragile the sea really is. Perhaps the sea is not as mighty as we think.
A contest at school helps Oliver find his voice and with his best friend Bo, he is able to tell others how we can all help protect the sea and its creatures. Oliver's idea is something all of us can do for our planet and its waters.
