Their entire country of Kravadaar was suffering the same fate.
The city's custom was to put 12- and 13-year-olds in groups in a ceremony called Evaluation. Then they were, given missions to benefit the city, and upon completion, money was rewarded.
Each have their own Aura that can materialize to help them.
Whitney's Aura was an Owl named Braze.
Zach's Aura was the Osume the Lion.
Quentins's Aura was a sea Otter
On their arrival to Eltrutt Town, they go to the Cheapskate Motel for the night. The owner, Mrs. Chorits informs Zach and Whitney that Quentin bears the mark of the Shadow Beast, Oserinchor.
The person that kills Quentin at the Rain Dragon temple will gain the power to command the night and the Noor.
It turns out that Naguai has been, shadowing the three in their travels. He intercedes to save Quentin.
The draught was, caused by Naguai having been, distracted by helping Quentin.
After saving Quentin and being, reminded of his duties, the Naguai lets the rain begin.
