Children are not only the heritage of God but also his heartbeat. God loves children and has modeled them as heaven's commercial to illustrate what heaven is like. Raising capable, productive and responsible children is a divine activity that is empowered by obedience to the organic/divine word of God.
In his book, The Closing of the American Mind, Alan Bloom opines, "The delicate fabric of civilization into which successive generations are woven has unraveled, and children are raised, not educated. The family requires a certain authority and wisdom about the ways of the heavens... Parents must have knowledge of what happened in the past and Godly prescriptions for what ought to be." Parents need to possess the tools and the will to control the atmosphere of the home and use those tools and will power to educate and not just raise children.
