About

In the 1600s, Oxford was a divided town. The wealthy lived in the elegance of uptown, while craftsmen and laborers worked hard in the crowded streets of downtown. William, a blacksmith from the heart of downtown Oxford, dreams of more than soot and sweat. When word spreads of opportunities across the seas, he sets out on a voyage to the West, determined to find riches and bring honor to his family and to England.

At home, his wife Margaret and their twelve-year-old son Henry are left to carry on without him. As the weeks turn into months, Henry must learn to face life without his father, growing stronger through the challenges. Margaret struggles too, balancing hope and worry as she works to protect her family in a community already divided by wealth and hardship.
Told through the voices of William, Margaret, and Henry, Survivors of the Unpromised Land is a story of adventure, family, and survival. From storm-tossed ships to the fragile bonds of home, their struggles reveal a timeless truth: the greatest treasure is not wealth, but the love and strength of family.
