This Historical Fiction/Fantasy is about a young student archaeologist (from the University of Washington) who, unbeknownst to her, has the gift of traversing through time. The heroine (Rose Fernandez) and her archaeologist mentor (Dr Louise Lopez) travel from the present era to the day after the fall of the Aztec Empire (hence the title, the date of the fall of the empire is known by the Aztec Calendar (tonalpohualli) as 1-Coatl). There, Rose assists a noble and courageous group of natives from the city of Tacuba (one of the main cities in the Triple Alliance which made up the Aztec Empire) to flee Pedro de Alvarado (Second in Command to Hernán Cortés') after many adventures/near death escapes, Rose Fernandez is successful in assisting a large group to evade the tyranny of the Spanish Conquistadors.
