The sayings and illustrations in this vast collection were given by M. R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., during 1978 and 1979. In accordance with the oral tradition of Sufism, these sayings were spontaneously spoken to impromptu gatherings of students who came to seek wisdom and a deeper understanding of man's relationship with God, through the example and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.).
