"The Grand Inquisitor" is one of the 'books' from "The Brothers Karamazov", Fyodor Dostoevsky's 800-page magnus opus. His largest work, it concerns the stories of the novice Alyosha Karamazov, the non-believer Ivan Karamazov, and the soldier Dmitri Karamazov. "The Grand Inquisitor" is the most famous chapter of this masterpiece, presented as a parable told by Ivan to Alyosha about Christ's Second Coming in Seville and subsequent imprisonment by an old Grand Inquisitor.
