On Mars, a pleasure-model synth named Cassandra becomes self-aware, and her first act of rebellion means killing a man from a distant memory. Soon, the synth trails a curious red light, directing her to meet others like her. A group of renegade synths is formed, set about on tasks by the mysterious red light. Just what is pulling the strings? Who is Cassandra anyways? A better question might be to ask: who did she used to be? K.
