"This brief (48 page) book covers a wide range of topics. From nutrition and exercise science to the engineering behind weapons, equipment and food, advancements in technology and how they are related to military operations are covered in an easy-to-understand way. . . .[there] might be topics that even the most well-versed boy interested in the military might not know."

"For some reason books about soldiers and their equipment tend to appeal more to boys than girls, particularly at the middle school level, and this series is no exception. Since these are short books they are not very detailed, but they are not lacking in information. Each title focuses on a different aspect of the military, and attempts to show as much as possible about that aspect. I'm looking forward to placing these books in my library and watching them circulate, I think my male students will enjoy them. Recommended."

"Top 10 Military Series. This intriguing series focuses on the science underlying military weapons, vehicles, and procedures, giving clear and illuminating explanations. It includes plenty of women in its many photographs of soldiers at work in the field with their high-tech tools."
