About

"The brain is a wonderful thing. It never stops working from the moment you are born until you get up to give a speech."- Herbert V Prochnow and Herbert V Prochnow JnrLet's face it, there really are very few people in the world who can stand in front of a large crowd and not have every thought rush into their heads. The truth is that most of us dread having to face and address any type of meeting, big or small. At least in my opinion, it is a type of refined torture. You know you have to do it, you know there's no way out of it unless you fall off a cliff without the help of a bungee cord or a hang glider, and you know that unless you do it right, this day, this moment , will most likely come back to haunt you for the rest of your life. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. If we dig deeper, we will discover that public speaking of any kind is a terror in itself. In most cases, it even overcomes our fear of heights, closed spaces, spiders, snakes or being alone. In short, for many people, making a public announcement of any kind is like meeting the devil. For people other than those who wonder what the hell I'm talking about and those who like public speaking, it's like all their worst fears are coming true, all at once.Of course, this is just the beginning. We could continue talking about the reasons why we are afraid of public speaking, but since I am not Freud and I do not at all feel like spending my time finding out what motivates me, I think we can leave it to the experts.
