When sightseeing Soviet commander (Alan Arkin) runs his submarine aground off the New England coast, his crew's attempts to find a boat to dislodge the sub almost start WW III. Despite their harmless intentions, the town thinks a full-scale Soviet invasion has been launched! What's worse, their police chief (Brian Keith) has left his hysterical assistant (Jonathan Winters) in charge...and the one man who knows the truth (Carl Reiner) is stirring up more chaos in this delightful cold war spoof.
