1. Episode 1

It's Christmas Eve and as Amelia and Arthur Havisham gather to hear the reading of their father's will their lives are left in turmoil by the unexpected contents. Elsewhere, a young boy makes a macabre discovery in an alleyway. Later, as the news of a murder filters through the Christmas day celebrations and Inspector Bucket begins his investigation.

2. Episode 2

Bucket goes to see his old enemy Fagin convinced he is involved in some way; following a lead he goes after Fagin's henchman Bill Sikes - could his wooden cosh hold a valuable clue? Frances sees a way of scuppering her sister's plans. Later, at the Havisham New Year's Party, Amelia is delighted to see her brother but perturbed by the arrival of an uninvited guest.

3. Episode 3

Compeyson goes to desperate lengths to make Miss Havisham notice him and Martha Cratchit's wedding plans are thrown into turmoil as Bob Cratchit fights to clear his name and get home in time for his daughter's wedding. Later, Compeyson's behavior leaves Amelia confused but intrigued.

4. Episode 4

A potential rival at Satis House gives Compeyson cause for concern. When a drunk prank goes dangerously wrong Arthur realizes the lengths to which Compeyson will go to achieve his aims. Meanwhile, will Arthur find the courage to confide in Matthew Pocket before Compeyson continues his plan to rid Satis House of his rival? Edward Barbary comes into the sights of Inspector Bucket.

5. Episode 5

Already facing financial ruin Edward Barbary's situation deteriorates when Scrooge demands his loan is repaid. Devastated by the loss of Jip, Amelia is comforted and surprised when Compeyson arrives with a present and a declaration. Meanwhile, Arthur's drinking nearly gets the better of him and Compeyson is forced to teach him a lesson, while Bucket gets a major new lead.

6. Episode 6

Honoria faces up to the reality of her father's situation - will she throw everything away to save him? Meanwhile, Bucket's patience is finally rewarded. Circumstances prevent Compeyson from attending an important meeting with Amelia. Her obvious success means he is forced to take drastic measure to keep her interest.
