Artificer's Chronicles

At seventeen years of age, Renan Saneris was still waiting for a talent to come up. While everyone around him got a Class and could move on with their life, he was still waiting for Fate to finally tell him what would become of him. He tried his hand at Smithing, Sword Fighting, and even at being an Artisan, but he never got many results for his efforts. One look at his Aetheric Record was generally enough to humble him as he had no skill beyond the basic level. He had no skill trees, no saving experience, and no class features. One day, however, when he's messing around in his father's forge, etching small symbols into a blade as a gift for his best friends Yana, the glyphs start glowing and awaken something in him. New Class Acquired! Artificer: Level One Artificer? What in the void was that? He had never heard of such a thing, and no one around him seems to have a clue either. Still, Renan is determined to find out how it all works so he can help the community with his new powers. When strange shadows attack his village, and he barely manages to chase them away with one of his new creations, he decides to join a group of Adventurers to investigate the threat and make sure everyone will be safe. In the process, he learns that his mysterious Class may be more than meets the eye. Renan thought that getting a Class would be an end in itself, but it turns out it's only just the beginning-the beginning of the Artificer's Chronicles!

All seems well. Renan has successfully defeated the demon at the ancient ruins and ensured Yana's safety. But is everything truly good? Barely back in Westholde, our friends are captured by the Silver Circle for interrogation. Rumors of objects coming to life have reached the Mages' ears, placing a massive target on Renan's back. Mistaken for an unlicensed magic user-a crime punishable by law-Renan is thrust into a perilous situation. When the Mages rip his Aetheric Record from him to investigate further, they find no discernible Class and no trace of lingering magic. Renan insists he's a Level 8 Artificer, but the Mages have never heard of such a class or its abilities. Though his name is eventually cleared, Renan quickly realizes his troubles are far from over. As it turns out, magic is strictly regulated for reasons that go far beyond politics. Flares aren't the only danger in this world; the demon Renan encountered at the airship was just one of many Void-spawns, creatures drawn to magic users. This is why every Mage must be accounted for-their very existence poses a threat to all. Renan and Yana must tread carefully, especially as the lure of adventure proves too strong to resist. When an opportunity arises to explore another pre-Cataclysm ruin, they can't say no. But reaching it will require them to navigate monster-infested woods. Thankfully, each monster they defeat brings valuable XP and new skills to master. What secrets will Renan and Yana uncover in their quest to unravel the mysteries of Artifice?
