Monsters Everywhere: Blue Moon Investigations Book 22 (book 22 of 26)
by Steve Higgs
Tempest Michaels has a vampire problem.
He's an old hat at this game and dealing with cases like this are his speciality. Except this time …
… the vampires are his clients.
When someone starts targeting members of the local vampire Live Action Role Play club, there's only one person they can think of to turn to – their old nemesis, Tempest Michaels.
Unfortunately for Tempest, when he takes the case, he doesn't realise they automatically assume that means twenty-four-hour protection. All too soon he has vampire wannabes camping on his lawn, he has vampires wannabes sleeping in his shed, and as for his office …
He needs to solve this case and fast and it's not the only one demanding his attention.
Hold on to your butts because this one's going to be a thrill-ride! FIVE STAR REVIEWS
Local lass
Loved book 22 as much as all the others. Always amusing and locations descriptive that I smile when I drive past. So lovely to have a local author who is not only a fantastic story teller but paints the scene and memorable characters within twisted plots, paranormal debunked, but always that feeling.......
Another great story
What happens when vampires ask for help or a monster appears in a sewer.
This episode of blue moon answers both of these questions.
This book is written from Tempest's perspective and the rest of the crew play supporting roles.
Really enjoyed it.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRUMP "EXCELLENT"?
As it turns out, the answer is YES! If you have never read any of Steve Higgs' BLUE MOON INVESTIGATIONS books.....do yourself a favor and start with book One. Each book is a rollicking good adventure, filled with likable characters, entertaining plots, laughs, and can stand alone, but you will miss out on a LOT of fun if you skip around. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Definitely worth a look
Light read that keeps you wanting to read what's coming next.
Another in the successful format of crime thriller with a comedy twist with over 20 in the series all worth a read.
Tempest and Co go from strength to strength
Yet another gripping story, totally un-put-down-able, another absolute page turner of gripping suspense. The characters so well depicted, and so relatable, as well as the locations.
I've missed these guys
Another great book from the fab Steve higgs, I've got to know these people over the last 20+books and if missed reading about their adventures, it's great to have them back. Great plots, fab characters and some great humour, everything you could want from a book
Surely not the end
A real belter of a story. Loads of action, quirky humour and a few serious issues combine to make this an outstanding mystery for Tempest and Blue Moon.

The Klowns of Kent: Blue Moon Investigations Book 4 - A Snarky Paranormal Detective Mystery
by Steve Higgs
There might be no such thing as werewolves, vampires or ghosts but apparently, evil Klowns are real.
Tempest Michaels is once again investigating ridiculous cases that are clearly not even slightly paranormal in nature. However, his daily menu of fun is interrupted by a plague of men dressed in garish outfits. They wear twisted clown make-up as they terrorise the Kent towns and villages with ever escalating and more frequent attacks.
The Klowns should be a case for the police to solve but their leader appears to have a serious beef with Tempest and they are coming for him and anyone that gets in their way.
Who are the Klowns? What do they want? And what's with the ridiculous smiles?
If they were not enough of a nuisance, he has foolishly employed a woman he is utterly besotted by. Trying to ignore Mr Wriggly's thoughts about what to do with his new colleague, he goes after his silver medal, a girl he lusted after years ago at school, but while Mr Wriggly might not care tuppence about the difference, is Tempest's heart really in it?
Throw in a demonic possession, a restaurant with ghostly footsteps and some more meddling by his mother, it looks like another entertaining week for Kent's best Paranormal Investigator.

Herne Bay Howlers: Blue Moon Investigations Book 14 - A Snarky Paranormal Detective Mystery
by steve higgs
Some people like to flirt with danger. These guys kick it in the balls and then shag its sister.
When two bikers are found half-eaten, the coroner's report records an animal attack. But England doesn't have any large predators …
… unless you count werewolves.
Tempest Michaels, paranormal detective, gets hired by the dead bikers' gang to find out what happened and point the finger at a new rival motorcycle club in the next town. Calling themselves the Herne Bay Howlers, they proudly display a werewolf on their jackets and they are far from your average Hell's Angels.
But Tempest doesn't believe in the paranormal, and werewolves are right up there on his list of fake nonsense he wants to kick in the nuts. He goes in fully charged and ready, with former army mate and force of nature, Big Ben, at his side.
However, this mystery is nothing like the simple case he expected and when Amanda Harper, his business partner/girlfriend, demands he drop it, he'll have to put everything on the line to find the truth.
Is he right? Are they just idiots in good costumes, or is he about to bite off something that will chew him? The stakes are always high, but when the chips come down, do the guys have what it takes to see this one through?
Don't miss your chance to find out because everyone loves a snark-fuelled action fest.
The paranormal? It's all nonsense, but proving it might just get them all killed.
'This series has it all; everything I want in a story and series ... humour, suspense, and colourful characters. It's one of my top all-time favourite series.'

What lurks in the shadows at the Royal Navy Historic Dockyard? Is it something evil and malignant? Will it suck at your soul? No, because it will be some idiot in a costume, same as always.
Tempest Michaels is going undercover with best friend Big Ben to find out why his Dad was found unconscious and stuffed into a wheelie bin. There is no client this time, just a definite need to find someone worthy of a jolly good punch in the pants.
With strange noises coming through the floor of the rigging room and reports of ghosts seen at night wearing the uniform of 18th Century Royal Navy Officers, the chaps set out to unravel the mystery, but is there more going on than a simple fake haunting? Also, what do the old Navy boys mean by their offer of help? And why are so many of the employees Ukrainian?
It's going to take more than a determined approach and Big Ben's top chat-up lines to get through this one. Plus, it's Jagjit's wedding next weekend which means a Batchelor party in four days' time.
Will he survive the anti-Army banter of the old Navy boys? Will Big Ben copulate with every single woman on the night-shift cleaning crew?

Dead Pirates of Cawsand: Blue Moon Investigations Book 5 - A Snarky Paranormal Detective Mystery
by Steve Higgs
Gold coins from a centuries-old sunken treasure ship have been found on the beach in Cawsand. This would be no cause for Tempest Michaels to take notice, but a man murdered by the ghost of a dead pirate come to claim back the gold? That ticks all his boxes.
Tempest, oblivious to the events in Cawsand and believing he was overdue a week off, has travelled to Cornwall with his dogs for some relaxation and perhaps a cream tea or two.
Well, fat chance of that because he is hip-deep in murderous ghosts before he finishes his second pint.
Uncovering a disturbing undercurrent in the sleepy seaside village, a race against time begins for him to crack the case before anyone else gets hurt? Together with the local police officer, the diminutive, sexy and very domineering Bobbi the Bobby plus some other helping hands he could probably do without, he will do all he can to reveal the truth.
The locals believe the ghosts are real though and the village is filling up with treasure hunters after the gold and ghost hunters seeking infamy.
Are there people trying to sabotage his efforts? Is he in danger? Just what is the truth behind the mystery and was there ever a treasure to find?
He has the odds stacked against him like never before, he has no idea who to trust and the Dachshunds want their dinner.
And, oh yeah, it's Halloween.

Under a Blue Moon: An Origin Story: Blue Moon Investigations Book 11 - A Snarky Paranormal Detective Mystery
by steve higgs
Tempest Michaels is about to have a bad week.
When a newspaper ad typo sends all manner of daft paranormal enquiries his way, P.I. Tempest Michaels has no sense of the trouble and danger heading his way. In no time at all, he has multiple cases to investigate, but it's all ridiculous nonsense like minor celebrity Richard Claythorn, who believes he is being stalked by a werewolf and a shopkeeper in a nearby village with an invisible thief.
Solving these cases might be fun if his demanding mother (Why are there no grandchildren, Tempest?) didn't insist on going with him, but the simple case of celebrity stalking might not be all it seems when he catches a man lurking behind the client's property just in time to see him step into the moonlight and begin to transform.
All he wanted was a nice easy job where he got to be his own boss and could take his trusty Dachshunds to work. How much trouble can a typo cause?
The paranormal? It's all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed.

To do list: 1. Solve big case while boss is away. 2. Have serious relationship dramas. 3. Jump a river with a car.
What the heck did I get myself into? My name's Jane Butterworth. For me, the paranormal is just a day job. I work at the Blue Moon Investigation Agency, a firm that specialises in cases that no one else will take, cases that start at strange and unexplainable and tier rapidly south from there.
My boss, Tempest Michaels, is away dealing with a Yeti in France, but the enquiries keep coming so when Chief Inspector Quinn of the local police wants to hire the firm as special consultants, I sign us up and take it on myself.
But a swamp monster?
Really?
Bodies of dead cops have been showing up in nearby Biddenden Lake, the site of an unexplained death three years ago. Is there a link between that death and these? The whole area is steeped in ancient history, ghost stories are two-a-penny here but am I really cut out to be a detective?
Time to put my big girl pants on and hope no one figures out that I'm really a boy.

When he is called to investigate a Yeti attack in the French Alps, Tempest Michaels is certain it will just be another fool in a costume - He's going to solve the case in five minutes and spend a few days skiing. Yay!
Guess again. The mountain, the locals, and above all, the Yeti, have other plans in mind. With the Dachshunds doing their best to avoid the cold and Big Ben distracted by the abundant snow bunnies on offer, Tempest is in for a tougher test than he expected.

Sounds like an easy enough case, right? That's what I told myself, but nothing in life prepared me for the bedlam I'm about to face.
Despite the craziness, the chases, and the unexpected fighting, I need to solve this thing to justify my employment. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I am doing, I'm still working my notice period in the police, and I have a date tonight. I'll find the ghost, be sure of it, but why, oh why, did I invite sassy BFF Patience Woods to help out.
