How is a book made? A writer thinks of a story and writes it down. After a publishing company edits it, an artist will illustrate the story and a designer will put the two together on a computer. Then, the computer pages are turned into film that is sent to a printer to be turned into printed pages. The pages are cut and sewn together to make finished books that are shipped on trucks to stores for people to buy and read.

How are crayons made? Clear wax is melted in a factory. Once it's melted, color is added to it, it is poured into crayon-shaped molds, cooled, and wrapped in a paper label. Sorted into sets, the brightly colored crayons are boxed and sent in trucks to stores to be sold to you.

How is a bridge built? Cement is mixed with water and rocks to make concrete. The concrete is poured into holes and into blocks that are stacked to make a bridge. Once fences and lights are added to the bridge, cars can drive across it.
