Peculiar Mystery

Sunny Haddock, an animal-loving vegetarian psychic, is stoked to leave California behind to start a new life in the Ozark town of Peculiar with her best friend Chavvah Trimmel. She ups the moving date when Chav goes missing and high tails it to the small town. When the gorgeous Babel Trimmel, Chav's younger brother, (along with the sheriff, the mayor, and some other nice folk) suggests Sunny haul her U-haul and butt back out of town, she's undeterred. Her psychic abilities might be out-of-whack, and blood makes her faint, but she's not a quitter. Besides, she's not about to go anywhere until she finds out what happened to Chavvah. But Sunny has more to deal with than unfriendly townsfolk...like disturbing killer visions and the dog-like animal no one else sees that seems to be stalking her every move. To make matters worse, she is finding Babel to be more irresistible than crack on a donut. Kidnapping, murder, romance, and a town full of people hiding the truth will keep Sunny Haddock busy as she tries to unravel the strange happenings in Peculiar, Missouri.

A Halloween Bash, a high-risk pregnancy, and a vengeful prankster--just another "Peculiar" holiday adventure for Sunny and her friends. Glowing Jack-O-Lanterns with gaping maws and jolly gazes were staggered between hay bales inside Delbert and Elbert Johnson's barn. I want to enjoy myself, but I am five months pregnant, which in therianthrope terms means this baby is spreading my ribs wide open and threatening to kick my liver right out my butt. Topping that, my psychic ability, which has been on the fritz since my first pregnancy with my son Jude, is all revved up and in go, go, go mode. But nothing in Peculiar is ever as simple as it appears, and nothing about my psychic ability is ever easy. I am only sure of one thing, someone will die tonight if I don't figure out who the Wolfman is and how to stop the invisible man from killing him. Four days before Halloween, and poor Sunny Haddock is pregnant...again..., but her body isn't the only thing haunting her. She is getting psychic visions of classic horror monsters getting stalked by The Invisible Man. With each new incident, his actions are getting more deadly. Can she figure out the mystery before someone she cares about becomes the next victim?

Sometimes you ride the road to adventure and sometimes the road rides you, which is exactly how I'd felt as I sat up and picked ditch gravel from my elbow and tall grass from my hair. All I'd wanted was a girls' weekend away from home, a sort of double bachelorette party for two of my friends who were both getting married soon. No guys, no kids, no restaurant. But right now, as I cataloged the bumps and bruises, I only knew two things for certain: First, we were no longer in Reno, and second, Hell had a new name-Assjacket. When human psychic Sunny Trimmel and her three best friends decide to go on a weekend getaway to Reno, they get away all right- into an alternate reality where cats talk, her Shifter friends are stuck in their animal forms, and they're dumped into a rural hell known as Assjacket, West Virginia. Thanks to a vengeful witch's magic gone wrong, the girls are sucked into one of the most peculiar adventures they've ever had. People and landmarks are disappearing all over town. Sunny will have to rely on her faulty psychic visions, her friends, and the crazy townsfolk to solve the mystery-or they might never find their way home. Suck it, Dorothy. The big day has finally arrived! Billy Bob Smith and Chavvah Trimmel cordially request the honor of your presence on their happy (disastrous) day. To celebrate (survive) their union on Friday, the Twenty-First of December, Two Thousand Eighteen at Four-Twenty-Three p.m. Destination: Peculiar, Missouri. The only thing Chavvah wants more than to marry Billy Bob is to have his baby, but since that ship has sailed thanks to prior trauma, she's happy just to get down the aisle with him and make their life together official. The date is set for the Winter Solstice, marking the longest night of year, but a challenge from an unexpected guest, is turning her special day into a fight-club nightmare. And after having postponed the wedding twice already, Chav is starting to think fate hates her guts. On top of that, there are almost forty werewolves camped out on Billy Bob's property, claiming that Chav and Billy Bob are their new leaders. But when Chav tries to get her spirit guide, Brother Wolf, to cough up answers, he ignores her. Worst, the silent deity is sending her BFF Sunny visions that are taking a physical toll on her human friend's all too frail body. Throw in Billy Bob's manipulative father, Chav's pushy mother, and other surprise guests, these two furry lovebirds may never make it to "I do!"
