Demian
The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
'Demian' is a psychological masterpiece of modern literature. This novel explores the duality of human nature and the alienation of man's soul. A powerful coming of age story.
Seven Pillars of Wisdom
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
When T. E. Lawrence's 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' first appeared in 1922 it was immediately recognized as a literary masterpiece. In writing his extraordinary account of the Arab Revolt of 1916-1918 and his own role in it, T. E. Lawrence sealed his place in history and legend as Lawrence of Arabia. Widely regarded as the last great romantic war story and described by Winston Churchill as one of "the greatest books ever written in the English language," it conveys a world of wonders, written in the same committed fashion that Lawrence applied to his duties in Syria, this is a towering achievement of both autobiography and military history, as well as a first-rate adventure story. 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' is a must read. This Rediscovered edition exclusively contains over 60 maps, sketches, and other illustrations by Eric Kennington, Augustus John, William Roberts, John Singer Sargent, Frank Dobson, Colin Gill, Henry Lamb and others.
Your Faith is Your Fortune
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Man can decree a thing and it will come to pass. In the beginning was the unconditioned awareness of being; and the unconditioned awareness of being became conditioned by imagining itself to be something, and the unconditioned awareness of being became that which it had imagined itself to be; so did creation begin. Stand still in the psychological state defined as your objective until you feel the thrill of Victory, Then, with confidence born of the knowledge of this law, watch the physical realization of your objective. Neville Goddard was an influential New Thought teacher and an early proponent of the Law of Attraction through his belief that one could create one's physical reality through imagining.
Just So Stories
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
These stories, first published in 1902, are pourquoi stories: fantastic accounts of how various phenomena came about. A forerunner of these stories is "How Fear Came" in The Second Jungle Book (1895), in which Mowgli hears the story of how the tiger got his stripes.
Mental Chemistry
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Here are the secrets to 'Mental Chemistry'. In this book you will learn how to improve your life by removing some kinds of thoughts and adding others. It works much like conventional chemistry: if you change the elements in a molecule you change the molecule. By changing elements of the way you think you will learn how to become a different, better, happier, and more successful you. Long before Michael Losier and James Arthur Ray reminded the world just how effective the power of positive thinking could be in 'Laws of Attraction' and 'The Science of Success', Charles F. Haanel had mapped out the science of it.
The Book of Five Rings
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
There are various Ways. There is the Way of salvation by the law of Buddha, the Way of Confucius governing the Way of learning, the Way of healing as a doctor, as a poet teaching the Way of Waka, tea, archery, and many arts and skills. Each man practices as he feels inclined. It is said the warrior's is the twofold Way of pen and sword, and he should have a taste for both Ways. Even if a man has no natural ability he can be a warrior by sticking assiduously to both divisions of the Way. Generally speaking, the Way of the warrior is resolute acceptance of death.
The Economic Consequences of the Peace
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
The Economic Consequences of the Peace was written and published by John Maynard Keynes. After World War I, Keynes attended the Versailles Conference as a delegate of the British Treasury and argued for a much more generous peace. It was a best seller throughout the world and was critical in establishing a general opinion that the Versailles Treaty was a "Carthaginian peace." It helped to consolidate American public opinion against the treaty and involvement in the League of Nations. The perception by much of the British public that Germany had been treated unfairly in turn was a crucial factor in public support for appeasement. The success of the book established Keynes' reputation as a leading economist. When Keynes was a key player in establishing the Bretton Woods system in 1944, he remembered the lessons from Versailles as well as the Great Depression. The Marshall Plan after the Second World War is a similar system to that proposed by Keynes in The Economic Consequences of the Peace.

The Science of Mind
by Ernest Shurtleff Holmes
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Here is the complete first edition of The Science of Mind. For the careful practitioner this is the preferred edition, as later editions lacked the power and focus of this edition and were simply less readable. Here you will find six lessons and countless affirmations that will help you unlock the power of your mind and find higher truths. You won't find a guide to the science of the mind that is clearer and easier to use. With the power of right thinking you will find that a new, better world awaits you! Ernest Shurtleff Holmes was the founder of the Church of Religious Science. Religious Science, like many New Thought faiths, emphasizes positive thinking, influence of circumstances through mental processes, recognition of a creative energy source and of natural law. Holmes had an immense influence on New Age beliefs, particularly his core philosophy that we create our own reality.
Toward a Psychology of Being
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
This book is a continuation of my 'Motivation and Personality', published in 1954. It was constructed in about the same way, that is, by doing one piece at a time of the larger theoretical structure. It is a predecessor to work yet to be done toward the construction of a comprehensive, systematic and empirically based general psychology and philosophy which includes both the depths and the heights of human nature. The last chapter is to some extent a program for this future work, and serves as a bridge to it. It is a first attempt to integrate the "health-and-growth psychology" with psychopathology and psychoanalytic dynamics, the dynamic with the holistic, Becoming with Being, good with evil, positive with negative. Phrased in another way, it is an effort to build on the general psychoanalytic base and on the scientific-positivistic base of experimental psychology, the Eupsychian, B-psychological and metamotivational superstructure which these two systems lack, going beyond their limits. It is very difficult, I have found, to communicate to others my simultaneous respect for and impatience with these two comprehensive psychologies. So many people insist on being either pro-Freudian or anti-Freudian, pro-scientific-psychology or anti-scientific-psychology, etc. In my opinion all such loyalty-positions are silly. Our job is to integrate these various truths into the whole truth, which should be our only loyalty.

Practice and Presence of God;
Spiritual Maxims;
The Life of Brother Lawrence
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Included in this collection are two different translations of 'The Practice and Presence of God', 'The Spiritual Maxims of Brother Lawrence', and a short biography of Brother Lawrence. 'The Practice and Presence of God' is one of the most beautiful and touching stories of Christian devotion ever written. Brother Lawrence was a Carmelite brother known for his profound peace and deep relationship with God. Many came to seek spiritual guidance from him. The wisdom that he passed on to them, in conversations and in letters, would later become the basis for this book. These two translations will help the reader find a more complete understanding of this wonderful and enduring story. 'The Spiritual Maxims of Brother Lawrence' are beautifully spiritual teachings that can help anyone have a closer relationship with God. And the short biography that closes out the books offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of Brother Lawrence.

Magic of Faith
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Here is the law: "I am that which I feel myself to be." Practice changing the feeling of "I" every day by affirming: "I am Spirit; I think, see, feel, and live as Spirit, the Presence of God. (The other self in you thinks, feels, and acts as the race mind does.) As you continue to do this, you will begin to feel you are one with God. As the sun in the heavens redeems the earth from darkness and gloom, so will the realization of the Presence of God in you reveal the man you always wished to be-the joyous, radiant, peaceful, prosperous, and successful man whose intellect is illumined by the Light from above.
The Power of the Blood of Jesus
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
God has spoken to us in the Scriptures in divers portions and in divers manners; but the voice is ever the same, it is always the Word of the same God. Hence the importance of treating the Bible as a whole, and receiving the witness it gives in its various portions, concerning certain definite truths. It is thus we learn to recognize the place these truths actually occupy in Revelation, or rather in the Heart of God. Thus, too, we begin to discover what the foundation truths of the Bible are, which above others demand attention. Standing as they do, so prominently, in each new departure in God's revelation; remaining unchanged when the Dispensation changes, they carry a divine intimation of their importance.

Introduction to the Devout Life
by Saint Francis de Sales
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
"Almost all those who have written concerning the devout life have had chiefly in view persons who have altogether quitted the world; or at any rate they have taught a manner of devotion which would lead to such total retirement. But my object is to teach those who are living in their own households, and whose calling obliges them to a social life, so far as externals are concerned. And so I have shown them that a true steadfast soul may live in the world untainted by worldly breath, finding a well-spring of holy piety amid the bitter waves of society, and hovering amid the flames of earthly lusts without singeing the wings of its devout life." Featuring over 200 linked footnotes, this is the definitive edition of this great work.

The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
You've heard much in recent years about positive thinking. Out of the recessions and lean years another term has been born: "prosperous thinking." This book plainly shows how prosperous thinking has helped people in every walk of life to experience these results. Furthermore, it shows how prosperous thinking can do these things for you, too! As you read this book, chapter by chapter, you will automatically begin to develop the power of prosperous thinking, and, almost as easily, you will begin to reap a harvest of prosperous results.
The Art of War
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Niccolò Machiavelli considered this book his greatest achievement. Here you will learn how to recruit, train, motivate, and discipline an army. You will learn the difference between strategy and tactics. Machiavelli does a masterful job of breaking down and analyzing historic battles. This book of military knowledge belongs alongside Sun-Tzu on every device.
The Art of War & The Prince
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Collected here in one omnibus edition are Niccolò Machiavelli's most import works, The Art of War and The Prince. It was Niccolò Machiavelli who essentially removed ethics from government. He did it with The Prince, when he asserted that The Prince (president, dictator, prime minister, etc.) does not have to be concerned with ethics, as long as their motivation is to protect the state. It is this questionable belief that in many ways had led to the modern world as we know it. His assertion was that the head of state must protect the state no matter the cost and no matter what rules he or she breaks in the process. If you want to understand modern politics you must read this book. Machiavelli considered The Art of War his greatest achievement. Here you will learn how to recruit, train, motivate, and discipline an army. You will learn the difference between strategy and tactics. Machiavelli does a masterful job of breaking down and analyzing historic battles. This book of military knowledge belongs alongside Sun-Tzu and Clausewitz on every device.
Creative Mind and Success
by Ernest Shurtleff Holmes
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
'Creative Mind and Success' is a guide to mental wellness and success. Like 'Science of the Mind', this book focuses on how the power of positive thinking can better your life, but it has more of a focus on financial well-being. This book is clearly a precursor to 'The Law of Attraction' and 'The Secret'. Earnest Shurtleff Holmes was the founder of the Church of Religious Science. Religious Science, like many New Thought faiths, emphasizes positive thinking, influence of circumstances through mental processes, recognition of a creative energy source and of natural law. Holmes had an immense influence on New Age beliefs, particularly his core philosophy that we create our own reality.

The Gallic Wars
The Commentaries of C. Julius Cæsar on his War in Gaul
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Cæsar portrayed his invasion of Gaul as being a defensive pre-emptive action. Most historians agree that the wars were fought primarily to boost Cæsar's political career and to pay off his massive debts. Even so, Gaul was extremely important to Rome, as they had been attacked many times by the Gauls. Conquering Gaul allowed Rome to secure the natural border of the river Rhine. Cæsar painstakingly describes his military campaign, and this is still the most important historical source on the Gaul campaign. It is also a masterwork of political propaganda, as Cæsar was keenly interested in manipulating his readers in Rome as he published this book just as the Roman Civil war began. W. A. Macdevitt's definitive translation, complete with nearly 300 linked footnotes, brings this landmark historic book alive.

Many of today's best known self help books take their core concepts from this book. The Pursuit of God
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
The Pursuit of God: "This book is a modest attempt to aid God's hungry children so to find Him. Nothing here is new except in the sense that it is a discovery which my own heart has made of spiritual realities most delightful and wonderful to me. Others before me have gone much farther into these holy mysteries than I have done, but if my fire is not large it is yet real, and there may be those who can light their candle at its flame." -A. W. Tozer
The Battle for Investment Survival
Complete and Unabridged
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
A reader of one of my earlier discussions asked-"Have you ever tried out the ideas outlined in your book?" My reply was to the effect that the ideas were tried out first, and the book written afterward. Any earner who earns more than he can spend is automatically an investor. It doesn't matter in the slightest whether he wants to be or not, or even whether he realizes that he is investing. Storing present purchasing power for use in the future is investing, no matter in what form it's put away. Some popular and common forms include money itself, government bonds, savings bank deposits, real estate, commodities, securities of all types, diamonds and where and when it's legal, gold.
The Rough Riders
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
The Rough Riders was the name bestowed on the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry. Roosevelt had resigned as Assistant Secretary of the Navy to fight in the war, and his forceful personality and notoriety among the popular press of the period were probably the main driving factors resulting in the fame of this regiment. Here is the exciting story of the Rough Riders in the words of Theodore Roosevelt.
The First Men in the Moon
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
"As I sit down to write here amidst the shadows of vine-leaves under the blue sky of southern Italy, it comes to me with a certain quality of astonishment that my participation in these amazing adventures of Mr. Cavor was, after all, the outcome of the purest accident. It might have been any one. I fell into these things at a time when I thought myself removed from the slightest possibility of disturbing experiences. I had gone to Lympne because I had imagined it the most uneventful place in the world. "Here, at any rate," said I, "I shall find peace and a chance to work!" And this book is the sequel. So utterly at variance is destiny with all the little plans of men. I may perhaps mention here that very recently I had come an ugly cropper in certain business enterprises. Sitting now surrounded by all the circumstances of wealth, there is a luxury in admitting my extremity. I can admit, even, that to a certain extent my disasters were conceivably of my own making. It may be there are directions in which I have some capacity, but the conduct of business operations is not among these. But in those days I was young, and my youth among other objectionable forms took that of a pride in my capacity for affairs. I am young still in years, but the things that have happened to me have rubbed something of the youth from my mind. Whether they have brought any wisdom to light below it is a more doubtful matter." This Rediscovered edition also features the illustrations prepared for the first edition of this book, by Claude Allin Shepperson.

Conscience of a Conservative
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
'The Conscience of a Conservative' reignited the American conservative movement and made Barry Goldwater a political star. It influenced countless conservatives in the United States, and helped lay the foundation for the Reagan Revolution in 1980. It covers topics such as education, labor unions and policies, civil rights, agricultural policy and farm subsidies, social welfare programs, and income taxation. This significant book lays out both politically and economically the conservative position that would come to dominate the Conservative Movement in America.
The Success System That Never Fails
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Why does one man succeed and another fail? There is an answer. And it will be found in this book. For there are formulas, prescriptions, recipes, rules, principles, systems--even treasure maps, if you please--which, when followed in proper sequence, bring the good things in life to those who seek them. Often the rules for success are so simple and so obvious they aren't even seen. But when you search for them, you, too, can find them. And during the search something wonderful happens: you acquire knowledge...you gain experience...you become inspired. And then you begin to realize the necessary ingredients for success.
My Experiments with Truth
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Four or five years ago, at the insistence of some of my nearest co-workers, I agreed to write my autobiography. I made the start, but scarcely had I turned over the first sheet when riots broke out in Bombay and the work remained at a standstill....it is not my purpose to attempt a real autobiography. I simply want to tell the story of my numerous experiments with truth, and as my life consists of nothing but those experiments, it is true that the story will take the shape of an autobiography. But I shall not mind, if every page of it speaks only of my experiments. I believe, or at any rate flatter myself with the belief, that a connected account of all these experiments will not be without benefit to the reader.

The Life of God in the Soul of Man
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
True religion is a union of the soul with God, a real participation of the divine nature, the very image of God drawn upon the soul, or, in the Apostle's phrase, "It is Christ formed within us."-Briefly, I know not how the nature of religion can be more fully expressed, than by calling it a Divine Life: and under these terms I shall discourse of it, showing first, how it is called a life; and then, how it is termed divine.

The Histories
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Herodotus was an ancient Greek historian who lived in the fifth century BC (c.484 - 425 BC). He has been called the "Father of History", and was the first historian known to collect his materials systematically, test their accuracy to a certain extent and arrange them in a well-constructed and vivid narrative. The 'Histories' - his masterpiece and the only work he is known to have produced - is a record of his "inquiry", being an investigation of the origins of the Greco-Persian Wars and including a wealth of geographical and ethnographical information. The Histories, were divided into nine books, named after the nine Muses: the "Muse of History", Clio, representing the first book, then Euterpe, Thaleia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Erato, Polymnia, Ourania and Calliope for books 2 to 9, respectively.
Humility
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Humility is the most overlooked teaching of Jesus Christ. In this book Andrew Murray explores how essential humility is to the understanding and practice of Christianity. Perhaps the best book ever written on the subject. "We have seen humility in the life of Christ, as He laid open His heart to us: let us listen to His teaching. There we shall hear how He speaks of it, and how far He expects men, and specially His disciples, to be humble as He was."-Andrew Murray

The Law and Other Essays on Manifestation
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Can man decree a thing and have it come to pass? Most decidedly he can! Man has always decreed that which has appeared in his world and is today decreeing that which is appearing in his world and shall continue to do so as long as man is conscious of being man. Not one thing has ever appeared in man's world but what man decreed that it should. This you may deny, but try as you will you cannot disprove it, for this decreeing is based upon a changeless principle. You do not command things to appear by your words or loud affirmations. Such vain repetition is more often than not confirmation of the opposite. Decreeing is ever done in consciousness. That is? every man is conscious of being that which he has decreed himself to be. Collected here are six essays on the Law of Attraction: The Law, Be What You Wish; Be What You Believe, By Imagination We Become, The Law of Assumption, Truth, and At Your Command.
Cycles
The Science of Prediction
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
It is the business of science to predict. An exact science like astronomy can usually make very accurate predictions indeed. A chemist makes a precise prediction every time he writes a formula. The nuclear physicist advertised to the world, in the atomic bomb, how man can deal with entities so small that they are completely beyond the realm of sense perception, yet make predictions astonishing in their accuracy and significance. Economics is now reaching a point where it can hope also to make rather accurate predictions, within limits which this study will explain. This eBook edition comes complete with more than 150 graphs and charts.
Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus
Complete and Unabridged
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
'Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus' may be the most important book of philosophy written during the twentieth century. Wittgenstein's writing style is clear, succinct, and accessible. Bertrand Russell claimed that, "I cannot see any point on which it is wrong. But to have constructed a theory of logic which is not at any point obviously wrong is to have achieved a work of extraordinary difficulty and importance." Required reading for anyone interested in philosophy.
Thought Vibration
Or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World
by William Walker Atkinson
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
William Walker Atkinson was an influential member of the New Thought movement. He was one of the first people to write about the Law of Attraction. Long before Rhonda Byrne discovered 'The Secret' that one's positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, and happiness, Atkinson already knew it.
The Bhagavad Gita According to Gandhi
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
My first acquaintance with the Gita began in 1888-89 with the verse translation by Sir Edwin Arnold known as the Song Celestial. On reading it, I felt a keen desire to read a Gujarati translation. And I read as many translations as I could lay hold of. But all such reading can give me no passport for presenting my own translation. Then again my knowledge of Sanskrit is limited, my knowledge of Gujarati too is in no way scholarly. How could I then dare present the public with my translation? It has been my endeavor, as also that of some companions, to reduce to practice the teaching of the Gita as I have understood it. The Gita has become for us a spiritual reference book. I am aware that we ever fail to act in perfect accord with the teaching. The failure is not due to want of effort, but is in spite of it. Even through the failures we seem to see rays of hope. The accompanying rendering contains the meaning of the Gita message which this little band is trying to enforce in its daily conduct.--Mahatma Gandhi
Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy
Part of the Rediscovered Book series
Schumpeter's Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy is perhaps the most important and influential book on the subject ever written. This volume is the result of an effort to weld into a readable form the bulk of almost forty years' thought, observation and research on the subject of socialism. The problem of democracy forced its way into the place it now occupies in this volume because it proved impossible to state my views on the relation between the socialist order of society and the democratic method of government without a rather extensive analysis of the latter. Moreover, this material also reflected the analytic efforts of an individual who, while always honestly trying to probe below the surface, never made the problems of socialism the principal subject of his professional research for any length of time and therefore has much more to say on some topics than on others. In order to avoid creating the impression that I aimed at writing a well-balanced treatise I have thought it best to group my material around five central themes. Links and bridges between them have been provided of course and something like systematic unity of presentation has, I hope, been achieved. But in essence they are-though not independent-almost self-contained pieces of analysis.
